ArtsCenter- The ArtsCenter, a private non-profit organization, serving North Carolina for more than 35 years, gives live music fans an intimate, up-close-and-person evening with their most revered musicians. Concerts in The ArtsCenter’s 355 seat general admission Earl & Rhoda Wynn Theater feature local, regional and national bands, crisscrossing the musical spectrum. The Art of Cool Project: The Art of Cool Project is a jazz and art advocacy project that strives to cross artistic, economic, and cultural boundaries to bring together a diverse mix of people and creativity. Artsplosure – Artsplosure’s mission is to produce high quality annual festivals that celebrate excellence in the performing and visual arts; to promote and bring recognition to national, regional, and local artists; and to bring artists and the larger community together to improve the quality of life and cultural environment. The Carolina Theatre – Carolina Theatre’s mission is to serve greater Durham and the Triangle region with vibrant, thought-provoking programs of the performing and cinematic arts in our historic treasure, The Carolina Theatre. We strive to contribute to the cultural and economic vitality of downtown Durham and to delight and educate our children and future leaders. Carolina Performing Arts – Carolina Performing Arts is presented by the Office of the Executive Director for the Arts UNC Chapel Hill. Duke Performances – Duke Performances explores the full range of the performing arts, from the traditional to the forward-leaning, embracing programming from diverse cultures and disciplines through presentation and education. We feature programming that serves to celebrate the finest traces of culture incubated in North Carolina and the South, while simultaneously embracing Duke University’s international profile and status as a renowned research institution. Forty Acres – Forty Acres is a celebration of roots music. We sponsor house concerts and other small venue concerts featuring up and coming artists and artists with a growing following. We also sponsor music/dance events. Email, Website.
NC State Live – Since 1972, NC State Live (formerly, NCSU Center Stage) has brought the world to the campus of North Carolina State University, offering students and the community the opportunity to experience the work of superb performing artists from a wide variety of cultures and disciplines. NC State Live presents exceptional practitioners of jazz, dance, world music and drama, as well as artists whose work defies category. PineCone – The Piedmont Council of Traditional Music, is a private, non-profit membership organization dedicated to preserving, presenting, and promoting traditional music, dance, and other folk performing arts. PineCone is considered the largest and most active traditional music organization in the state. Each year PineCone presents more than 150 events, with approximately 100 of those offered to the public for free. PineCone programs include: • Five different concert series, including its signature Down Home Series; • The PineCone Radio Bluegrass Show — a weekly radio show on WQDR 94.7FM, Sundays from 6-9 p.m; • Monthly participatory sessions in bluegrass music, Irish music, and shape note singing.
