Model C Fiscal Sponsorship
for
Arts Organizations
and
Art Projects
The Triangle is filled with a diverse collection of incredible artists, arts projects and arts organizations. However, many of our most talented artists and organizations are ineligible to receive grants and tax-deductible contributions because they lack 501(c)(3) nonprofit tax status. Becoming a 501(c)(3) nonprofit comes with a huge administrative burden, including bookkeeping, accounting, board development and management and more, which can be difficult for a short project, or even for a small, new arts organization.
That’s where Triangle ArtWorks Model C Fiscal Sponsorship program comes in!

Development of our Fiscal Sponsor Program is a natural extension of the work that Triangle Artworks already does. Supporting artists and arts organizations as businesses, and helping them become financially sustainable, is at the core of our Mission. Therefore, we are uniquely positioned to develop and run this program.
Many fiscally sponsored projects need help with capacity building and connections. Triangle ArtWorks already offers professional development for arts administrators and organizations through its ArtSwell program. And although a Model C program can not advise or direct the work of the Sponsored Project, we can certainly help connect you to resources and contacts in the area that can help them grow.
