It’s Grant Season!

It’s Grant Season again!  Here are the available grants and deadlines we know of right now. 

Orange County Arts Commission

  • Grassroots Arts Program (GAP) Grant – Nonprofit organizations, municipalities, and schools

    • Grants to fund high-quality arts activities and programming in Orange County

    • Suggested request amount: $1,000-$3,000

    • Application period: May, 2021

  • Orange County Arts Support Fund Grants

    • Relief grants available to artists and arts-related organizations

    • Application period (fifth round): OPEN NOW through May 31, 2021

Chatham County Arts Council 

  • Grassroots Arts Program

    • For 501(c)(3) organizations

    • May be used for expenditures to conduct quality arts programs or to operate an arts organization.

    • Deadline - June 11, 2021

Durham Arts Council

  • Season Grants 

    • Applicant must be a non-profit organization with 501(c) (3) status based in Durham County or providing at least 50% of it’s programming in Durham County.

    • Arts projects or the operating expenses of arts organizations are eligible for funding. Season Grants may not be used to support fund-raising activities.

    • To request operating support the applicant must be an arts organization.

    • Deadline - May 31, 2021

  • Durham Arts Catalyst Grants

    • The Durham Arts Catalyst Grant Program is the appropriate choice for nonprofit organizations which do not have extensive experience with seeking grant support and are planning an arts activity.

    • Applicant must be a non-profit organization with 501(c) 3 status based in Durham County and the proposed project must be held in Durham County. For FY22 we encourage arts nonprofits to apply for operating support.

    • The applicant may use a fiscal agent if the applicant does not have 501(c) 3 status. The applicant does not have to be an arts organization, though the project must be an arts activity.

    • The Durham Arts Catalyst Grant Program is intended to provide access to quality arts experiences for the people of Durham by supporting arts projects in Durham. You may apply for support for a single arts project. Projects that include the opportunity for collaboration or partnership between communities, neighborhoods or organizations are encouraged, but not required.

    • Deadline - May 31, 2021

Mary Duke Biddle Foundation 

  • Arts Grant Program

    • Operating support grants for arts organizations in Chatham, Durham, Orange, and Wake Counties

    • A two-year grant of $10,000 each year for a total grant of $20,000 to organizations that have received MDBF funding between 2011-2020.

    • A one-year $5,000 targeted to organizations that have never had MDBF funding or haven't received a grant since 2010.

    • Application period is June 1-June 15, 2021, for a September funding decision.
